925 Sterling Silver -  Sterling Silver is Nickel free and Hypoallergenic. It consists of 92.5 percent pure silver and the rest is typically copper. The reason silver needs to be combined with other metals is that it is very difficult to work with just pure silver, which is very soft and malleable. A bit of hardness has to be introduced, by adding other metals. 925 Sterling Silver is much different from silver plated, where a layer of silver is placed over another metal or alloy, and can be scraped off or tarnished easily.

14ct Yellow or Rose Gold Filled - Gold Filled metal is Nickel free and Hypoallergenic. It is composed of a very thick, solid layer of yellow or rose Gold, mechanically bonded to a base metal such as Sterling Silver. It is 25 times thicker then regular Gold plating and lasts up to 30 years with every day wear. 14ct Gold Filled items are suitable for those who can only wear solid Gold, due to the thickness of the Gold layer, which will not wear away. It was designed to make Gold more affordable.
